I had rebuilt my first PC from about 1996/97 (at least the first that was my personal very own) in about 2009ish... Somehow at that time I remembered what it was. But it had a Cryix processor. Does anyone here remember what your PC said when you had a Cryix instead of an Intel or AMD chip? I believe it was a Cyrix 200+ if I remember correctly. I had something before that but it was garbage. The original one had a voodoo 3dfx card, but when I rebuilt it I pampered myself with a voodoo3 ;)

You noob! My 1st game PC was a 386 with 4 meg ram and a 30 meg HD. And a 5,1/2 floppy drive! LOL I soooo loved DOS 5 !

Why try to play Minecraft when you have a perfectly good machine to play DooM, Duke Nukem 3d or Shadow Warrior, or Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle, or Leisure suit Larry or.. well, you know what I mean..

First "gaming" PC? Acer desktop, ended up replacing the 486 66 with some Cyrix 5x86 chip and putting a Wave Blaster 2 daughterboard on the somehow and shockingly compatible OEM soundcard. Took forever to figure out how to get TIE Fighter to work properly with that stupid EMM386 memory manager they forced you to use. Gravis Phoenix was the best joystick ever as well.

I know this video is old as fuck, but it brought back good memories. When I built my first gaming PC I fried MULTIPLE motherboards because I didn't realize the unused metal case standoffs were causing a short. Bless that parts supplier that kept feeding me new boards (presumably) without realizing what an idiot I was. The rig was a 1.2GhZ Athlon and served me well. Simpler times.

Hah, you had it made. My first "PC" was a Timex Sinclair ZX-81 . . . it had a whopping 2Mhz speed. LOL Then I got into the Radio Shack CoCo line of computers. My first serious computer was a 386 dx-66 with a 4mb memory daughterboard.

OMG, watching this video feels me like fucking old artifact... So much changed, and not so much in te same way… Really, desktops PCs are one of the things which are still very similar in solutions today, once it was 15 years ago... Still you have memory, CPU, mobo and power supply. Even Front Side Bus exist to this day, just slightly different… But nowadays, a fricking smartphone is 5x faster than a configuration mentioned in this video... Wonder what really will be on the market in the next 10 years… Just bigger frequencies, multipliers and number of cores, or the thing will go some different direction… Remember when Intel said the solution is going into more GHz, where in reality you could use a single die as space heater :D Also remember how me and my friend cooked AMD Duron 700MHz, where after putting into the socket we turned on the PC to just quickly check if it's fine. It was... for like 2 seconds, than a smoke told us it was working, and it's not working anymore… Haha, now it's funny but back then I was pissed like hell, frying the stuff which i waited so long in a matter of second… I never did same thing again, good lesson it was. ;) Today it's really difficult to fuck up something when using PC... Not to mention software side as well, where installation of the simple device as a scanner on Windows 98 was a fucking nightmare… Now you just plug the stuff and it's working. Like for real...
